Softball Preview: Minooka Indians vs. Yorkville Foxes        
        
		
            The Minooka Indians will venture away from home to  challenge the Yorkville Foxes  at 4:30  p.m.  on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Minooka had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the nine-run drubbing they dealt Oswego East on Monday. The Indians blew past the Wolves 15-6. The  win continues a trend for the Indians in their matchups with the Wolves: they've now won six in a row.
 Emma Best tossed a big game,   tossing five innings while giving up just one earned  (and one unearned) run off   three  hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in 17 consecutive appearances.
 At the plate, Minooka let  Olivia Boyd and  Karli McMillin run wild. Boyd  went 3-for-5 with four  runs and two  RBI, while  McMillin  went 3-for-6 with three  runs, two  RBI,  and one  double. That's the most  runs  Boyd has posted since back in April of 2024.  Addisonn Crumly was another key player,  getting on base  in four of her six plate appearances with two  runs.
 Minooka  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .531. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Oswego East only posted  an  OBP of  .343.
 Meanwhile, Yorkville had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it seven on Monday. Everything went their way against the Raiders as they made off with  an  11-1 victory. That's two games straight that the Foxes have won by  exactly ten  runs.
 Yorkville's win was  their fourth straight on the road, which  pushed their record up to 17-8. The  road  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Minooka, their record now sits at 20-8.
 Minooka skirted past Yorkville  8-6 when the teams last played  back in April. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Indians since the  squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
