Basketball Recap: Delta Takes Down Yorktown in a Playoff Battle

It's playoff time, and Delta had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top against the Yorktown Tigers by a score of 49-39 on Friday. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Bronson Edwards continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 8-for-13 en route to 20 points along with six rebounds and four steals. He is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last seven games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jordan Furney, who posted 11 points.

Yorktown's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ephraim Daugherty, who earned seven points. The dominant performance also gave Daugherty a new career-high in field goal percentage (75%). Austin Kates was another key player, putting up five points.

Delta's win bumped their record up to 15-7. As for Yorktown, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 12 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-17 record this season.

Delta wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 50-37 victory against New Castle on the 8th. Yorktown does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
