Soccer Game Preview: Bishop Fenwick vs. Masconomet Regional

Bishop Fenwick is 0-5 against Masconomet Regional since September of 2020 but things could change on Friday. The Crusaders are taking a road trip to challenge the Chieftains at 4:00 p.m. Bishop Fenwick's last five contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Wednesday, Bishop Fenwick didn't have quite enough to beat Archbishop Williams and fell 3-2.

Meanwhile, Masconomet Regional faced Beverly in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Chieftains' defense stepped up to hand the Panthers a 3-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for Masconomet Regional, who have now won eight matchups by three goals or more so far this season.

Masconomet Regional has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 35 goals over those nine contests. As for Bishop Fenwick, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2-3.

Bishop Fenwick suffered a grim 6-0 defeat to Masconomet Regional when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Can the Crusaders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
