Football Recap: Crestwood Comes Up Short

Crestwood extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 3-6. They had to suffer through a 40-0 loss at the hands of the Kirtland Hornets. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Red Devils were not able to get on the board.

As for Kirtland, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 9-0. Fans of they have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

John Silvestro was his usual excellent self, rushing for 120 yards and a pair of TDs on only 15 carries. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 105 rushing yards. Ty Bledsoe was another key back, rushing for 105 yards on only ten carries.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Crestwood will head out to challenge Wickliffe at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Blue Devils' defense has only allowed 14.4 points per game this season, so the Red Devils' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Kirtland, they will head out on the road to take on Rootstown at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Hornets 7.3, the Rovers 14.9) so any points scored will be well earned.
