Volleyball Recap: Glendale Takes a Loss + How To Watch

If Glendale was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Curwensville on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Vikings fell 3-1 to the Purchase Line Red Dragons on Wednesday. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Red Dragons apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Glendale was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Purchase Line work for it, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 18-25, 25-15, 25-23.

Despite the loss, Glendale still got an impressive performance from Rachel McClellan, who had 29 kills. McClellan has been hot, having posted seven or more kills the last eight times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Matish, who had 25 assists.

Glendale's defeat dropped their record down to 14-14-1. As for Purchase Line, they pushed their record up to 14-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Glendale has already played their next match, a 3-1 loss against Homer-Center on the 22nd. As for Purchase Line, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Conemaugh Township on the 18th.
