With a playoff win on the line, Mercersburg Academy rose to the challenge on Thursday. They never let the Phelps Lions get on the board and left with a 1-0 win. Mercersburg Academy's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last three matches.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Konrad Spory, who's now up to three this season.

Mercersburg Academy's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-8. The home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three contests. As for Phelps, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 19-9-2 record this season.

Mercersburg Academy will face off against Lawrenceville School at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Phelps, they will host AIM Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Phelps will be up against AIM Academy's rather soft defense (which has allowed four goals per match), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
