Softball Recap: Evart's Loss Ends 14-Game Winning Streak at Home

Evart dropped their record down to 10-2 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's 14-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season. They fell just short of the Ithaca Yellowjackets by a score of 1-0. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Wildcats were not able to get on the board.

As for Ithaca, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games.

For Ithaca's part, not much got past Ivy Davenport, who gave up just a hit and racked up 11 Ks to keep Evart off the board. Davenport has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances.

While Evart had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
