Soccer Recap: Airport Takes a Loss

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last six times Airport and Aiken have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Monday. The Airport Eagles came up short against the Aiken Fighting Green Hornets, falling 7-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Fighting Green Hornets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 two weeks ago.

Airport's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Aiken, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4.

Coming up, Airport will venture away from home to take on Midland Valley at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Airport's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end. As for Aiken, they will look to defend their home pitch on Thursday against Gilbert at 7:30 p.m. Gilbert will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Aiken surely won't give up without a fight.
