North Putnam hadn't done well against McCutcheon recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Cougars walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Mavericks. Winning may never get old, but the Cougars sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

North Putnam had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-27, 25-20, 26-24, 25-19.

Michael Springmeyer paced North Putnam's offense, picking up 16 kills. Springmeyer got some help from Bastian Sobrino-Behler and his 32 assists. Zach Riley controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

North Putnam pushed their record up to 16-9 with the win, which was their third straight at home. As for McCutcheon, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-9-1 record this season.

North Putnam didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-1 victory against Crawfordsville on the 13th. As for McCutcheon, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Tri-West Hendricks on the 14th.
