Softball Game Preview: Belton-Honea Path Bears vs. West-Oak Warriors

For the first time this season, Belton-Honea Path will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup on Friday. They will venture away from home to challenge the West-Oak Warriors at 6:00 p.m. Belton-Honea Path will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line.

Belton-Honea Path had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 13-run drubbing they dealt Pendleton on Tuesday. Belton-Honea Path's pitchers stepped up to hand Pendleton a 13-0 shutout. Considering the Bears have won four contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, West-Oak put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against Wren by a score of 7-4. The seven-run effort marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring match of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Tori Roy was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylie Perkins, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run.

Belton-Honea Path's win bumped their record up to 7-0. As for West-Oak, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-0.

Belton-Honea Path came out on top in a nail-biter against West-Oak when the teams last played back in May of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Belton-Honea Path since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
