Recap: Presidio Blue Devils vs. Kermit Yellow Jackets

The Presidio Blue Devils came tearing into Friday's game with nine straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.4 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against Kermit by a score of 61-49. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Presidio also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.

Several Yellow Jackets players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Diego Juarez, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Juarez also posted two blocks for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Zeke Espino, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds.

Presidio pushed their record up to 12-4 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points per game. As for Kermit, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-11 record this season.

Presidio will square off against Alpine at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Alpine's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five matches. As for Kermit, they will be playing at home against Compass Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Compass Academy is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
