             After each having a week off, the Georgetown Eagles and the Leander Lions will shake off the cobwebs and  face off against  one another  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. One thing working in Georgetown's favor is that they have posted at least 31  points  every time they've taken the field this season.
 Georgetown is headed into the  match after thoroughly thrashing Copperas Cove: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Georgetown blew Copperas Cove out of the water with  a  44-8 final score. With the Eagles ahead  35-8 at the half, the  matchup was all but over already.
  Jett Walker was the offensive standout of the  contest as he rushed for 108 yards on only ten carries.
 Meanwhile, Leander came up short against Del Valle two weeks ago and fell  29-17.
 Despite the  loss, Leander got top-tier performance from   Mason Montgomery, who rushed for 132 yards, and also threw for 203 yards and a touchdown.  Zane Wooldridge was  Montgomery's top target, picking up 149 receiving yards and a touchdown.
 Georgetown's victory was  their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which  pushed their record up to 3-0. As for Leander, they now  have a losing record at 1-2.
 Everything came up roses for Georgetown against Leander in their previous meeting  back in October of 2023, as the  team secured  a  52-21 win. Does  Georgetown have another victory up their sleeve, or will Leander turn the tables on them?  We'll have the answer soon enough.
