Baseball Recap: Nativity BVM Triumphs

After losing to Shenandoah Valley the last time they met, Nativity BVM decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Green Wave walked away with a 6-1 win over the Blue Devils on Monday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Green Wave.

STEPHEN KARINCH was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has become a key player for Nativity BVM: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-12 otherwise. KARINCH was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times he's played.

In other batting news, BRADY LOFTUS was incredible, going 3-for-5 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. TOMMY BARTASHUS also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Nativity BVM always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Shenandoah Valley only posted an OBP of .167.

Nativity BVM's record now sits at 6-13. As for Shenandoah Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-8.

Nativity BVM has already played their next matchup, a 4-3 loss against Williams Valley on the 7th. As for Shenandoah Valley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 3-2 victory against Schuylkill Haven on the 5th.
