Basketball Game Preview: High Point Central Bison vs. T.W. Andrews Red Raiders

High Point Central hasn't had much luck against T.W. Andrews recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The High Point Central Bison are taking a road trip to take on the T.W. Andrews Red Raiders at 8:30 p.m. One thing working in High Point Central's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five games.

High Point Central will bounce into Wednesday's matchup after beating Rockingham County, who they had gone 1-6 against in their seven prior meetings. High Point Central took their contest on Thursday with ease, bagging a 74-45 victory over Rockingham County. The Bison have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 20 points or more this season.

Josiah Hill and Jack Carter were among the main playmakers for High Point Central as the former went 7 for 15 on his way to 20 points in addition to eight boards and three steals and the latter went 7 of 14 on his way to 20 points. The match was Hill's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Williams, who posted nine points and seven rebounds.

Meanwhile, T.W. Andrews strolled past Morehead with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 69-53. Given the Red Raiders' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 162nd, while the Panthers are ranked 427th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

T.W. Andrews has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.8 points per game. As for High Point Central, their win bumped their record up to 9-3.

Everything went High Point Central's way against T.W. Andrews in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, as High Point Central made off with an 81-61 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for High Point Central since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
