Baseball Recap: Wayne Takes a Loss

Wayne suffered their closest defeat since March 16, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of the Southwest Covenant Patriots by a score of 8-6. The Bulldogs were not able to make up for their loss to the Patriots from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Sloan Jackson was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Langstyn Mcclendon also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Wayne and nudges their season record down to 2-3. As for Southwest Covenant, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

We've got a battle between Bulldogs coming up. As for Southwest Covenant, they will take on Oklahoma Bible at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
