Zuni has gone 9-1 against Newcomb recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Thunderbirds are taking a road trip to square off against the Skyhawks at 6:00 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Zuni and seven for Newcomb.

It was a Battle of the Birds when Zuni faced off against Thoreau on Saturday. The Thunderbirds fell just short of the Hawks by a score of 3-2.

Meanwhile, Newcomb lost 3-0 to Crownpoint on Saturday.

The final score came out to 25-18, 25-14, 25-12.

Newcomb's loss dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Zuni, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-9.

Zuni was able to grind out a solid win over Newcomb when the teams last played back in November of 2024, winning 3-1. Will the Thunderbirds repeat their success, or do the Skyhawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
