Baseball Game Preview: Biloxi Indians vs. Oak Grove Warriors

For the second straight game, Biloxi will face off against Oak Grove. The Indians will look to defend their home field on Monday against the Warriors at 7:00 p.m.

Biloxi heads in on the heels of a playoff matchup on Saturday. They fell 9-6 to Oak Grove. The Indians have struggled against the Warriors recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

For Oak Grove's part, Stratton Farmer looked comfortable as he tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Farmer has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Eric Booth Jr was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Kendrell Roberts, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Oak Grove is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Biloxi, their loss dropped their record down to 12-15.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Biloxi has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Oak Grove struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
