Baseball Recap: Carolina Academy Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Carolina Academy can bid farewell to their ten-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Saturday. They were the clear victor by an 8-2 margin over Hampton Park Christian. The Trojans not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since April 5, 2024.

Aidan Alston made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over four innings pitched. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Stelios Karambasis, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and one double. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in hits. Christian Bedolla was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

The victory got Carolina Academy back to even at 1-1. As for Hampton Park Christian, they dropped their record down to 1-1 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Carolina Academy didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 15-5 win against Southside on the 4th. Hampton Park Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Oakbrook Prep at 6:00 p.m. on March 18th.
