Football Recap: Tempe Comes Up Short + How To Watch

After soaring to 38 points the game before, Tempe was a bit more limited in their match on Friday. They were dealt a 48-12 defeat at the hands of the Flagstaff Eagles. The Buffaloes were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2019.

Despite the loss, Tempe still got an impressive performance from Saul Mendez, who threw for 263 yards on 18 of 33 attempts, and also punched in one touchdown on the ground. Mark Jackson also helped out with an impressive 84 receiving yards.

Chase Brown was nothing short of spectacular for Flagstaff: he threw for 186 yards and four TDs on only 17 passes, and also punched in a pair of scores on the ground. The dominant performance also gave Brown a new career-high in rushing touchdowns (two). Teyan Clerry was another key player, gaining 150 total yards and a touchdown.

Having lost for the first time this season, Tempe fell to 2-1. As for Flagstaff, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Tempe has already played their next game, a 25-7 victory against La Joya Community on the 19th. As for Flagstaff, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 63-21 defeat against Paradise Valley on the 19th.
