Mount Horeb had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. Everything went their way against the Dodgeville Dodgers as they made off with a 3-0 win. Surprisingly, this marked the Vikings' fifth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Mount Horeb was: they took every set by at least 11 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-9, 25-9, 25-14.

Ella Kahl paced Mount Horeb's offense, picking up nine kills. Kahl got some help from Laila Rasmussen and her 14 assists. Courtney Monroe and Finley Moore kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with four aces apiece.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mount Horeb will be taking part in a tournament against Monroe at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Dodgeville, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Platteville at 7:00 p.m. on September 18.
