Volleyball Recap: Brandeis Now 3-1 over Last Four Games

Brandeis lost to Johnson back in September, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Broncos walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Jaguars.

Brandeis had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 25-23, 26-24, 26-24.

Allison Rodgers paced Brandeis' offense, picking up 14 kills. Rodgers got some help from Samantha Blazquez and her 36 assists. Elayna G controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Despite the defeat, Johnson saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Maddy Hardy had 19 assists and six digs. Those 19 assists set a new season-high mark for Hardy.

Brandeis has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-22 record this season. As for Johnson, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 15-20.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Brandeis is set to take on their familiar foe LEE at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Johnson will square off against rival SA Roosevelt at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
