Baseball Game Preview: Fairbanks Panthers vs. West Liberty-Salem Tigers

For the second straight game, Fairbanks will face off against West Liberty-Salem. The Panthers will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against the Tigers at 5:00 p.m. Fairbanks' hitters haven't had much luck over their past three matches, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Fairbanks fell victim to West Liberty-Salem and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They lost 10-0 to the Tigers.

For West Liberty-Salem's part, Isaiah Reames made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. Reames has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season.

In other batting news, Jeremiah Johnson was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. Caleb Hershberger was another key player, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.

Fairbanks' loss dropped their record down to 7-12. As for West Liberty-Salem, their win bumped their record up to 11-5.
