Softball Recap: Montgomery Drops Highest Score of Season Against St. Vincent De Paul

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Montgomery). They walked away with a 22-18 win over the St. Vincent de Paul Mustangs on Monday. With that victory, the Vikings brought their scoring average up to 6.6 runs per game.

Laela Shimon was incredible, scoring five runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in five of her seven plate appearances. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Page, who went 4-for-6 with four runs, three doubles, and three RBI.

Montgomery lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in May of 2024.

Montgomery's win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-10. As for St. Vincent de Paul, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Montgomery will challenge rival Ukiah at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, St. Vincent de Paul is set to square off against their familiar foe Elsie Allen at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
