Softball Recap: Middle Creek Takes a Loss

Middle Creek was the 3-0 winner over Holly Springs when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Middle Creek Mustangs took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Holly Springs Golden Hawks on Tuesday. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Middle Creek saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hailey Hoeft, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. That stolen base marked the first that Hoeft snagged this season.

Middle Creek's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Holly Springs, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Middle Creek will venture away from home to challenge Cary at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Holly Springs, they will challenge Green Level at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
