Soccer Game Preview: Auburn vs. George Wythe

The Auburn Eagles are taking a road trip to face off against the George Wythe Maroons at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Auburn comes in on three and George Wythe on seven.

Auburn's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 5-0 margin over Varsity Opponent. The result was nothing new for Auburn, who have now won 11 games by three goals or more so far this season.

They hit Varsity Opponent with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Rowan Price (2), Kaycie Smith, Kenleigh Smith, and Marley Thomas.

Meanwhile, George Wythe's game on Tuesday was all tied up 1-1 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They came out on top against Giles by a score of 4-2.

George Wythe's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-4-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 23 goals over those five contests. As for Auburn, their victory bumped their record up to 12-4.

Auburn suffered a grim 4-1 defeat to George Wythe in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
