Taylorville extended their winning streak to three on Wednesday, bumping their season record up to 16-7 in the process. They came out on top against the Charleston Trojans by a score of 9-5. This was payback for the Tornadoes, who suffered a 17-8 defeat the last time these two teams met.

As for Charleston, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-18 record this season. Their loss continues a trend for the squad, making it six in a row.

For Charleston's part, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alex Matheny, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Another was Russell Applegate, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
