It was a good run, but Hayfield unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 57-56 to the Grand Meadow Superlarks. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Superlarks apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.

Hayfield's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 5-4. As for Grand Meadow, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hayfield will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Goodhue at 7:15 p.m. on January 9, 2025. As for Grand Meadow, they will square off against Lanesboro at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Grand Meadow has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 180 points over their last three contests.
