Softball Game Preview: Colfax Falcons vs. Marysville Indians

The Colfax Falcons will face off against the Marysville Indians at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Colfax had been on a three-game streak of scoring at least ten runs, but Wheatland put an end to it on Thursday. The Falcons came up short against the Pirates, falling 16-2. The Falcons' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Colfax saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Savannah Hostler, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that Hostler has hit this season.

Meanwhile, Marysville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 23-2 to Wheatland.

Emma Mallen was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Marysville's defeat dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Colfax, their loss dropped their record down to 4-9.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Colfax has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Marysville struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Colfax beat Marysville 15-10 in their previous matchup last Tuesday. Will the Falcons repeat their success, or do the Indians have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
