Basketball Recap: Laredo LBJ Wolves vs. United Longhorns
This season hasn't been kind to the Laredo LBJ Wolves, who are still winless after their 25th contest. They were outmatched by United at home and fell 62-18. While losing is never fun, Laredo LBJ can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1261st, while the Longhorns are ranked 139th).
Jesslynn Jalomo was her usual excellent self, scoring 20 points along with six steals and five assists for United. Jalomo is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 16 or more in the last 13 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Escamilla, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 12 rebounds.
Laredo LBJ dropped their record down to 0-25 with that loss, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. As for United, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 25-9.
Laredo LBJ does not have any more games scheduled as of now. United will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m.
