Baseball Recap: West Nassau's Loss Ends Three-Game Winning Streak on the Road

West Nassau dropped their record down to 17-10 on Thursday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 4-3 to the Fernandina Beach Pirates, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Pirates this season, with their most recent loss being a 4-3 defeat on Thursday.

As for Fernandina Beach, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games.

For Fernandina Beach's part, Grady Stevens looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Stevens has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Fernandina Beach saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tanner Jones, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

As of now, neither West Nassau nor the Pirates have any future games scheduled.
