Softball Recap: South Adams Finds Home Field Redemption Against Woodlan

There's no place like home for South Adams, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Woodlan Warriors on Tuesday as they made off with a 15-6 win. The result was nothing new for the Starfires, who have now won 12 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Addie Baker was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. Baker was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Reagan Beitler, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. Reagan Bollenbacher was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

South Adams' record now sits at 15-4. As for Woodlan, they moved to 19-3 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Coming up, South Adams will head out on the road to square off against Adams Central at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Flying Jets have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15 runs per game on average), something the Starfires will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Woodlan, they will face off against Southern Wells at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Raiders have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.05 runs per game on average), something the Warriors will no doubt try to take advantage of.
