Softball Recap: Newton Tigers vs. Pelahatchie Chiefs
After flying high against Leake County two weeks ago, Newton came back down to earth. The Newton Tigers fell victim to a rough 13-3 defeat at the hands of the Pelahatchie Chiefs on Tuesday. Newton has not had much luck with Pelahatchie recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
For Pelahatchie's part, the team relied heavily on Khloe McLaurin, who scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Kloey Crosby, who scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.
Newton's loss dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Pelahatchie, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-12.
