Softball Game Preview: Park Ridge Owls vs. Immaculate Heart Academy Eagles

The Park Ridge Owls will face off against the Immaculate Heart Academy Eagles at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday. The last five games Park Ridge has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Park Ridge is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Kearny just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of the Kardinals by a score of 7-6.

Meanwhile, Immaculate Heart Academy got themselves on the board against Passaic County Tech on Thursday, but Passaic County Tech never followed suit. They skirted past the Bulldogs 1-0. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won nine in a row.

Immaculate Heart Academy got a great performance from Kahlan Vough as she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over six innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave Vough a new career-high.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Leah English, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Park Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 10-7-2. As for Immaculate Heart Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 12-6.
