Volleyball Recap: Bella Carrigg and Mckinnley Beard Secure Win for Andrew Jackson Academy

Andrew Jackson Academy had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Beaufort Academy Eagles as they made off with a 3-0 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in September.

Andrew Jackson Academy never let Beaufort Academy on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The final score came out to 25-9, 25-15, 27-25.

Andrew Jackson Academy was led to victory by McKinnley Beard and Bella Carrigg. Beard had 20 kills, three blocks, and two aces, while Carrigg had 30 assists and three aces. That's the most blocks Beard has posted over her last six contests. Another player making a difference was Carrigan Moore, who had three digs, three aces, and two blocks.

They weren't the only good servers: Andrew Jackson Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their ace total in three consecutive matchups.

Andrew Jackson Academy's record now sits at 23-7. As for Beaufort Academy, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.

Coming up, Andrew Jackson Academy will head out to square off against Branchville at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Beaufort Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
