Inderkum hasn't had much luck against Woodcreek recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. Inderkum will be playing in front of their home fans against Woodcreek at 4:00 p.m. Inderkum's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so Woodcreek's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Inderkum's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out Bella Vista 1-0. That's two games straight that the Tigers have won by just one run.
Harrison Manning tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over 6.1 innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in May of 2024.
On the hitting side, Inderkum saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was JJ Cole, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Woodcreek beat Vista del Lago 10-6 on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Timberwolves.
Aaron Palmer was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in nine consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
In other pitching news, Tyler Thompson looked comfortable as he pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in five consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Koen Guernsey, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two). Another player making a difference was Pierson Lee, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Woodcreek always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .590. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Vista del Lago only posted an OBP of .417.
Woodcreek's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-6. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Inderkum, the win got them back to even at 7-7.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Inderkum has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Woodcreek struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 6.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Inderkum beat Woodcreek 9-4 when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Does Inderkum have another victory up their sleeve, or will Woodcreek turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
