Basketball Recap: Highland Extends Winning Streak to Four

Highland had won three straight games and Emilee Searle did her part to make it four on Wednesday. The Highland Hawks put the hurt on the Huntington Beach Oilers with a sharp 58-34 win thanks in part to Searle, who went 8 of 15 on her way to 19 points in addition to six assists and six steals. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in assists.

The team also got some help courtesy of Bailey Williams, who posted nine points and three steals. She has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played.

Highland's record is now 6-3. As for Huntington Beach, they moved to 6-2 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Highland and Faith Lutheran will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday without much rest having both just played. Faith Lutheran has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 2-1 during that stretch of close contests. As for Huntington Beach, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Aliso Niguel at 4:30 p.m. on December 28th.
