Basketball Game Preview: D'Evelyn Jaguars vs. Dakota Ridge Eagles

D'Evelyn hasn't had much luck against Dakota Ridge recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The D'Evelyn Jaguars will head out to square off against the Dakota Ridge Eagles at 3:00 p.m. Both are out to turn their luck around after having lost tight contests in their previous games.

D'Evelyn is headed into Saturday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 18th straight game dating back to last season on Wednesday. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 46-44 heartbreaker at the hands of Conifer. While the Jaguars didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Lobos 13-5 in the first quarter.

D'Evelyn's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Denzel Bogyah, who went 6 of 14 on his way to 17 points and five boards, and Kafui B. Fiadonu, who posted seven points and seven rebounds. That's the most points Bogyah has posted since back in December of 2024.

Meanwhile, Dakota Ridge fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Colorado Academy on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 49-47. The Eagles' defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Dakota Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 10-6. As for D'Evelyn, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-16.

D'Evelyn came up short against Dakota Ridge in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 70-58. Can D'Evelyn avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
