Baseball Game Preview: Diman RVT Bengals vs. Upper Cape Cod RVT Rams

The Diman RVT Bengals will challenge the Upper Cape Cod RVT Rams at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Upper Cape Cod RVT took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Diman RVT, who comes in off a win.

While Diman RVT's win against Old Colony RVT wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bengals skirted past the Cougars 5-4. The Bengals haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Samuel Perry made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Perry was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. Perry is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season.

In other batting news, Tanyon Reis was incredible, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Upper Cape Cod RVT and Mashpee, and Mashpee kept the tradition alive. The Rams lost 11-4 to the Falcons on Thursday. The loss put an end to the Rams' undefeated start to the season.

Diman RVT's win was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.7 runs over those games. As for Upper Cape Cod RVT, their defeat was their first of the season and also makes their record 2-1.

Diman RVT was able to grind out a solid win over Upper Cape Cod RVT in their previous meeting back in June of 2021, winning 5-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bengals since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
