Baseball Recap: Morgan Township Victorious

Morgan Township lost to Hammond Bishop Noll on Saturday, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Cherokees blew past the Warriors 7-1.

The team relied heavily on Matt Symer, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-2. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cal Lemmons, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Morgan Township's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-1-1. As for Hammond Bishop Noll, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Morgan Township will head out to challenge Hobart at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Hammond Bishop Noll, they will venture away from home to face off against Boone Grove at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
