Recap: Galena Park Yellowjackets vs. Port Neches-Groves Indians
The Galena Park Yellowjackets''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They were dealt a 41-7 loss at the hands of Port Neches-Groves. While losing is never fun, Galena Park can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 729th, while Port Neches-Groves is ranked 91st).
Blair Chatagnier had a dynamite game for Port Neches-Groves, rushing for 166 yards and four touchdowns on only ten carries. Chatagnier was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 59 yards.
Galena Park has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. As for Port Neches-Groves, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 9-1.
Galena Park does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Port Neches-Groves will square off against Brenham at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Brenham's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last four matchups.
