Basketball Recap: Tuesday's Victory Is Classical's Sixth in Last Eight Outings

If Sedgwick wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Classical, they should've done a better job of containing Kai Krieger. The Classical Saints managed a 45-41 victory over the Sedgwick Cardinals on Tuesday thanks in part to Krieger, who went 5-for-7 on his way to 16 points and three steals. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

Another player making a difference was Charlie Ochs, who posted two points and three steals. Those three steals gave him a new career-high.

Classical is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy: their three-point shooting accuracy was 40.5% in those games and 25.2% outside of them. As for Sedgwick, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-11.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Classical will square off against Bennington at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Classical is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.3 points per game this season. As for Sedgwick, they will be playing at home against Marion at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Sedgwick is facing Marion at the right time seeing as Marion is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
