Basketball Recap: Veterans Memorial Comes Up Short

Veterans Memorial was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 54-46 to the Rio Grande City Rattlers. The Chargers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rattlers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2018.

Veterans Memorial's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Rio Grande City, they moved to 2-3 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Veterans Memorial will host Corpus Christi Moody at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rio Grande City, they will be playing at home against King at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
