Volleyball Recap: Cannon Falls Takes a Loss

Cannon Falls suffered their biggest loss since September 2nd on Tuesday. They came up short against the Stewartville Tigers, falling 3-0. The Bombers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Tigers from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-15, 25-10.

Emma Templin paced Cannon Falls' offense, picking up eight kills. Templin got some help from LIbby Sampson and her 19 assists. Katie Tipton controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Stewartville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Clara Theobald, who had 23 assists and five digs. Theobald has been hot for a while, having posted 12 or more assists the last nine times she's played.

Cannon Falls' loss dropped their record down to 14-12. As for Stewartville, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Cannon Falls will head out to take on Red Wing at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Stewartville, they will venture away from home to square off against Goodhue at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
