Softball Recap: Hiawatha Takes a Loss

After soaring to 12 runs the game before, Hiawatha was a bit more limited in their match on Monday. They came up short against the Nemaha Central Thunder, falling 12-2. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Michaela Williams made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one double. Another player making a difference was Kaeleigh Ruckman, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Hiawatha has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 11 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season. As for Nemaha Central, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Thunder beat Hiawatha by a score of 7-6 later that day.
