Basketball Recap: Calhoun County Saints vs. North Eagles
Calhoun County won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Friday. They were dealt a 63-19 loss at the hands of the North Eagles. The Saints were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-14.

Despite the defeat, Calhoun County saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Cassidy Pough dropped a double-double on 14 points and 14 boards. Pough is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: she's pulled down at least 11 every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Jamaryia McMichael, who posted four points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals.
Kailen Parks was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 30 points and ten boards for North. The team also got some help courtesy of CoCo Charley, who had five points along with five assists and five steals.
Calhoun County's loss dropped their record down to 2-1. As for North, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-3.
Calhoun County and Horse Creek Academy will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for North, they and Eau Claire will face off at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Eau Claire will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something North surely won't give up without a fight.
