Soccer Game Preview: Sunset vs. Varela

The Sunset Knights will venture away from home to face off against the Varela Vipers at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Sunset's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for six straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Sunset fell victim to Hialeah and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They lost 4-0 to the Thoroughbreds.

Meanwhile, for the first time this season, Varela was forced to settle for a draw. They and Miami Beach finished up their matchup with a 2-2 draw on Tuesday.

Varela's draw makes their record 5-3-1 this season. As for Sunset, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.

Sunset might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Varela when the teams last played back in January of 2022. Can the Knights avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
