Soccer Game Preview: Plant vs. East Lake

The Plant Panthers will be taking part in a tournament against the East Lake Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Plant is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last five games.

Plant saw some tournament action on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 5-1 margin over Polk Christian Prep. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by three goals or more this season.

Meanwhile, East Lake kept a clean sheet against Mosley on Thursday. They came out on top against the Dolphins by a score of 2-0.

Plant is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-1-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 30 goals over those seven matches. As for East Lake, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3.

Plant skirted past East Lake 2-1 in their previous matchup back in February of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for Plant since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
