Softball Recap: Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Cathedral, Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Covenant Christian Warriors a 4-0 shutout. The Raiders were shut out 15-0 the last time they took on the Warriors, so the Raiders were just returning the favor.

The result came thanks to MG Hawkins's shutout, as she gave up just seven hits.

At the plate, Owen Finke was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Mary Buck was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.

The victory got Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter back to even at 9-9. As for Covenant Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season.

As for Covenant Christian, they will take on Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
