While Madison's win against Waynesville wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Mohawks sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 victory over the Spartans on Monday. The win was nothing new for the Mohawks as they're now sitting on five straight.

Owen King looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Brandon Ashley was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Ashton Altman was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Madison's record now sits at 8-2. As for Waynesville, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Looking ahead, Madison will host Franklin at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Waynesville, they will head out on the road to challenge Brookville at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
