Millard West faced Millard North in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Wildcats never let the Mustangs get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory. Winning may never get old, but the Wildcats sure are getting used to it with their eighth in a row.

Millard West got a great performance from Brady Ferguson as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. Ferguson has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Millard West saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jake Blackman, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Millard West pushed their record up to 18-9 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Millard North, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-9.

Looking ahead, Millard West will head out to take on Gretna at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Millard North, they will face off against Creighton Prep at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
